Captain your own space ship and roam the galaxy in 3D in this tactical space simulator with tons of RPG depth ! Space has never looked so inviting - but images can betray...
It has been two years since the end of the second Gemini war, the situation in the wartorn system is further from resolution than ever.
The collection of freedom fighters named Gemini League is now reduced to a small group, with no power or influence, after losing their leaders. The Empire meanwhile, has used the re-opened Starpoint to occupy the once renegade Gemini sector - and beyond.
A multitude of Imperial warship fleets and mammoth motherships have crushed every trace of opposition. The situation was looking bleak, when they suddenly halted their armada and re-shifted their focus on fortifying Starpoint with staggering numbers. Rumours soon spread that they were afraid of something coming after them through the T-gate, from what was supposed to be the core of the Empire. What are they running from that makes even the mighty Empire tremble?
Starpoint Gemini 2 will take players on a breath taking journey, with dark secrets and unimaginable twists that will finally unveil the incredible truth...
Starpoint Gemini 2: Origins
Gemini star system is a former colony of the gigantic Earth Empire. 23 years ago the rule of the Gemini Colonial Directorate was challenged by the Gemini League; a group of young revolutionaries whose only goal was a unified, but more importantly free and independent Gemini. The League grew quickly and it wasn't long before the entire system was enflamed by the war for independence which was slowly, but surely leading to the defeat of the Directorate. The war ended abruptly however with the Starpoint incident which effectively sealed off the entire system from the Empire. The original ideas of the League were quickly lost and in almost no time, new players emerged on the scene: the Korkyran Triumvirate, the Baeldor Republic and the Nyxian Consortium.
Countless spatial anomalies, which were a side effect of the incident, ripped many ships from the standard flow of time, only to bring some of them back over the course of those 23 years. Scientists however didn't just stand still all that time, but they diligently devised a way to find and pull back the stranded "Revenants" to normal space-time. You are one of these revenants who came back to find their entire world and all they believed in and fought for, has changed beyond recognition. You must find your way and place in this new Gemini which has fallen into chaos and disarray and relight old fires to finish what was started 23 years ago.
Starpoint Gemini 2: Secrets of AetheraAethera. This vast and dense nebula spans almost half of Porphyria. The sheer number of powerful anomalies and highly erratic deadly discharges caused by the strange nebula makes this area almost impossible to traverse. Several years ago, NeoPhysics scientists investigated the region and established a research facility in an abandoned Nexus installation called Kepler Station. Immediately after NeoPhysics started their work in Aethera, all hell broke loose. A series of rift detonations shook Aethera and the number of anomalies multiplied exponentially. Nexus officially denied any connection to the research taking place on Kepler and withdrew all personnel from Porphyria. The destiny of Kepler Station isn't clear, even to this day. With the exception of the so-called Ghosts, and rare, but audacious traders, no one travels through Aethera any more. Standard shields are simply not strong enough to withstand the violent disturbances. However, recent reports have surfaced, indicating that Kepler Station is still operational. Moreover, rumors suggest that the NeoPhysics team have developed some amazing technology during their long isolation in the nebula. More than a few expeditions were sent into Aethera to verify this, but none came back...
Starpoint Gemini 2: Titans
An arms race is taking place in Gemini. The three largest factions are racing to develop true weapons of mass destruction, the massive Titan class vessels. The democratic Korkyra is producing a titan class vessel that is based on the latest shield technology and will feature the strongest shields ever seen in the Gemini universe. Baeldor baronies are united together in an effort to quickly produce a space behemoth that can land a strong punch. The Nyxian consortium used its informants and monetary wealth wisely and is able to quickly join the race by taking what is not theirs: a titan class sized vessel based on Imperial Leviathan designs.
Join one of the factions in their worthy attempt and become the deciding factor.
Welcome to project Titan.
